Known for its rich culinary heritage, the Poitou-Charentes region is full of culinary specialties including: Cognac, Pineau des Charentes, oysters, mussels, and macarons. It is also known for its milk products like, butter, "tourteaux fromagers", and goat cheeses that are envied by epicureans the world over. Since 1996, the family-owned Poitou Chèvre creamery, focuses solely on traditional production like the Chabichou du Poitou and the Mothais sur Feuille. Bonde d'Antan is a cheese made from pasteurised goat's milk. The geotrichum rind forms during refinement and the density as well as the white colour of the paste, make its appearance typical of aged fresh goat cheeses. FLAVOUR: Although this cheese is made with goat's milk, it has a subtle caprine flavour. It has a refreshing and lightly tart taste. HOW TO SAVOUR: Its cylindrical shape allows it to be easily cut into rounds and placed it on a cheeseboard. It pairs well with a rosé wine
