The worldwide reputation of Brie de Meaux was established in 1814, when it was declared "King of Cheeses" at a gastronomic competition held during the Congress of Vienna.
Its proximity to the Parisian markets and the pretty wooden box in which it is sold have also helped to increase its reputation.
Brie de Meaux being the king of cheeses, what better than to add in its center the diamond of the kitchen, the Black Truffle.
FLAVOUR: With a soft paste and pronounced bloomy rind, its aroma evokes mushrooms and intensifies with age. At the peak of maturation, it has a soft and shiny paste, the colour ranging from a straw yellow to the of shade of butter. The truffle is distinguished by its intense aroma and delicious, slightly bitter taste; when combined with this high-quality cheese, the result is delectable.
HOW TO ENJOY: Ideal at room temperature, pair with a Côtes-du-Rhône, a Bordeaux, a red burgundy or because it is the king of cheeses, with a glass of champagne!
