Isigny Fresh Cheeses get their flavors from the Isigny region in the heart of Normandy. There, cows graze on rich, abundant grass, producing exceptional milk.
The cooperative’s very first fresh cheeses were created in 1939, but it wasn’t until 1973 that Isigny Sainte-Mère fresh cheeses became available, sold at dairy shops and cheese stores.
At that time, these fresh cheeses were mainly sold in buckets (like pails of butter) and distributed to traditional dairy and cheese shops in Paris, and later to supermarkets.
Since the 2000s, the Cooperative has continuously innovated to offer plain fresh cheeses as well as increasingly gourmet fruit-flavored varieties. A proof of their excellence, these fresh cheeses have won 47 medals at the Concours Général Agricole since 1991, including 19 gold medals!
Lighter than cream, it has a smooth texture that gives it richness and versatility for use in both cold and hot recipes, whether sweet or savory.
